The internet is mind-boggling profound and has done amazing things in this world but unfortunately, network marketing companies are for the most part clueless as to how to effectively use it for building businesses.
The proof is this – look at 99% top producers in 99% of the companies and NONE of them build the business based on the internet. Most was done with old fashioned (and effective) warm market recruiting face to face.
So, you join some company and are given some self replicated website, your business center, your whatever they want to call it and you’re lead to believe that you can send people there and you’re suddenly going to be successful. WRONG.
If you want to destroy your chances to build a successful business, send everyone directly to your website in order to have them learn about the opportunity or product/service.
Here is how to properly use your self replicated website using a few examples…
WARM MARKET – once you have built rapport with someone or contacted a personal friend and piqued their interest enough to go to an in person meeting WITHOUT EVER MENTIONING THE NAME OF THE COMPANY OR PRODUCT, AFTER they see or hear a presentation on the phone should you ever give them your self replicated website.
That is so the website DOES NOT INTRODUCE your person to the opportunity or product but is only there to secondarily reinforce what was ALREADY presented to them.
Basically, never let your website be someone’s first introduction to a business. They’ll look around and based on what they see, they will come to a conclusion based on that without going through a structured presentation.
This might sound mean, but it is the truth… most people do not know how to think. Thinking is a learned skill and just because thoughts are going through people’s minds, that does NOT mean they are thinking. It isn’t the same thing even though most people think it is!
So they think they are actually qualified to do their own due diligence by taking some shotgun approach by vising your website to learn about it based on their own terms and you have just effectively lost them. You also robbed them of the opportunity to see a real presentation that could have just changed their lives but instead, sending them to a website that you thought was supposed to introduce them to something actually destroyed it for them.
I’m not going to candy coat this for you – if you want to know about effectively using the internet to build a network marketing business, you’re going to get nothing less than the brutal truth from me.
QUALIFIED LEADS – Other than working your warm market, you can generate or purchase leads for people interested in a product or opportunity. When you have the leads and you have a phone number, I’m not going into the appointment setting method here but basically, it should take no more than about 45 seconds to have a 99% closing ratio at SETTING THE APPOINTMENT to get a prospect committed to spending 30-50 minutes at a later time in order to get onto a conference call to listen to a presentation.
That presentation will be structured, it will logically introduce your prospect to something when they have set time aside instead of them randomly going to your website where they could be distracted, etc…
Only AFTER someone gets onto a presentation call will they have the privilege of even knowing my self replicated company website address – and that is AFTER the call is over!
INTERNET MARKETING – If we’re doing this 100% online, which is not as effective as Warm Marketing recruiting or using leads that we can buy with a phone number, but we can move through a higher quantity of prospects in a shorter period of time. We make up for the lower closing ration by having more volume.
A prospect can go to a landing page to request info from a site where they do NOT know what the company is. Then their info request is returned with a link to some presentation other support material like an automated presentation. And then, they are given a link to the MLM’s self-replicated website. BUT NOT BEFORE.
That way, we have captured their contact info and can continue to educate them on the opportunity or product until they join, buy or unsubscribe.
In all 3 cases, Warm Market, Qualified Prospect Leads, or Internet Marketing, not once do we ever send anyone directly to the self replicated website in order to introduce people to the company or product/service. The site is only used AFTER they see or hear a presentation.
AN EXCEPTION TO THE RULE
The exception doesn’t mean there is a time to send people directly to the self replicated website as an introduction to the business.
The exception to the rule is about the MLM companies themselves.
The exception is that I have found one company that actually has this part right. In their back office, they offer an automated system where people purchase a monthly subscription and it allows them to use different video pages to send people to. Prospects then request info and then follow up letters go out promoting that associates self replicated site for them.
That is the RIGHT way to do that and when I saw it, I was really happy.
I almost signed up for it myself but it has an agreement that includes not disclosing or using their proprietary info on the system but I declined. That is because I had already been doing this for several years and I started a system like this for many of my digital Clickbank affiliates.
I started with some newsletter subscription pages and offered affiliates a custom link to them so that when someone subscribes, their affiliate ID is permanently attached to that subscriber. Then, when I mail out a promotion for one of the digital products, I put in THEIR affiliate link instead of my own! Some publishers think I’m a little too generous to my associates, but that is what I have the loyalty of my associates – they know I have their best interests at heart.
After that, I created a system like this for all of my ASEA downline – and it is available for FREE! I have various landing pages my associates can send people to and my system will promote THEIR self replicated ASEA website link for them – over and over and over!
Now, I’m creating one for this new company even though they have their own but mine will be free to my downline. I will still recommend that my downline use their video system because they’re doing it the right way. And my associates have the option to use my system as well, for free, just to have more options.
Anyway, this company gets a 5 star rating from me in terms of how they are recommending their business be build online with that system: Zeek Rewards

Why am I telling you the company names in this blog without sending you to a presentation first? Because I need them for examples in order to educate you on building a business using the internet. If you look at the pages I actually send people to, you will see that I do something completely different.
